Arrive in Johannesburg early morning off your international flight. Connect with either SAA or Comair (BA) to Livingstone, with departures from Johannesburg at 10h40 and arrival in Livingstone at 12h30 (SAA).
After arrival at Livingstone airport transfer to Islands of Siankaba (±50 min drive). Transfer included in rate. 3 nights at Islands of Siankaba ISLANDS OF SIANKABA The Islands of Siankaba comprises two densely-forested, sand islands in the Zambezi River, located only twenty-four miles upstream from the internationally renowned ‘Victoria Falls’, and a near equal distance from Botswana’s gamedense Chobe National Park. The Islands of Siankaba is a classic forested retreat and has been developed as a luxurious camp, offering 7 secluded chalets linked by a footbridge to the main bar and dining area. The uniquely designed chalets are constructed of teak and custom-made canvas tenting and are raised well above ground levels in the tree canopy. Private balconies extend over the river.Day 2 & 3: Enjoy guided birding and nature walks on the main island’s nature trail, sunset river cruises, dugout canoe trips around the islands as well as rafting on the Zambezi in the rapids near the lodge. There are also a range of activities on offer from the lodge, including guided tours of Livingstone Town, its museums and Victoria Falls, adrenaline sports in Livingstone as well as game drives to Livingstone’s Mosi-O-Tunya National Park. Included in rate is a visit to the Victoria Falls (Zambian side) – one visit per guest, per stay. Activities at the Falls are for your own account Day 4: Transfer by road to Kasane (1h15min approx). On arrival at Kasane, clear customs and immigration for Botswana. Game viewing cruise and transfer to Zambezi Queen Base 1. 3 night cruise on Zambezi Queen – departs every Friday. ZAMBEZI QUEEN Experience the thrill of a unique African safari from the deck of your own private suite aboard a luxury 45 meter boat based on the magnificent Chobe River. There can be few natural wonders as synonymous with Africa’s raw wilderness as this stretch of untamed waters. The Chobe River bisects Botswana’s Chobe National Park from Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, and has in the process created one of the densest populations of wildlife on the African continent. The Zambezi Queen offers 14 Suites of which 4 are rated Master Suites. All suites have private balconies and full length sliding shutters for both privacy and protection from the sun, sliding mosquito net doors and the finest finishes complete this cocoon of creature comforts.On arrival in Kasane you are met by the Zambezi Queen team who transfer you to Base Camp 1 where the boat is moored. Game viewing and a cruise followed by a welcome on the boat and dinner. Day 5: Breakfast onboard before departing on a morning game drive (in Chobe National Park) or game viewing by small tender boat. Meet back at the boat for a midday departure to Base 2. Cruise along the Zambezi and enjoy lunch on board while watching the magnificent passing scenery and game viewing along the banks of the river. On arrival in Base 2 enjoy either an afternoon water based safari or a cultural tour by mokoro of the local village. Return from activities, freshen up for evening dinner. Day 6: Morning activities include a choice of game viewing by boat, fishing or visiting the local village. Return to the boat for a midday departure for Base 3 (number 4 on the map above). Afternoon to relax or enjoy more activities. Dinner on board the boat. Day 7: Zambezi Queen returns to Base 1 while guests enjoy breakfast onboard. Depart at 10h00 for Kasane immigration. Transfer to Livingstone airport for outbound flight to Johannesburg departing Livingstone at 13h15. Arrive in Johannesburg, meet and greet at airport and a road transfer to AtholPlace. Meet and greet by the Marlin Lodge team, transfer by road to the harbour and then boat to the island (45 mins). Arrive at Marlin Lodge in time for a late lunch on the beach! 8 nights at Marlin Lodge MARLIN LODGE Situated on the southwest shore of Benguerua island, Marlin Lodge offers some of the finest scuba diving sites and some of the best deep-sea fishing in the world. This unspoilt area exudes exoticism and romance, with pearly sea views and long white beaches.The lodge is constructed from Mozambican hardwoods, reed and cement cladded brick walls and thatched roofs.
