2011 Itinerary:
DAY 1: Oudtshoorn    B
Day_1_OustshoornWe depart Cape Town early in the morning for Oudtshoorn.  Our journey will take us through rolling hills and little farming towns before we reach South Africa’s centre for ostrich breeding. Long before we reach Oudtshoorn you will see ostrich farms on the side of the road. In the afternoon we will visit the famous Cango Caves, a series of caves made up of a succession of underground holes and enclosures offering adventurous expeditions and discoveries. The caves are all underground, creating a mysterious and interesting environment for visitors. The best way to explore the Cango Caves is a guided tour. There are two types of tours on offer: adventure tours and standard tours. The adventure tour is for the more daring traveller as it goes into the deeper and darker parts of the Cango Caves and includes some small and narrow tunnel areas that can be difficult to navigate. The standard tour is a more relaxed way of exploring these underground caves. If you don’t suffer from claustrophobia this option is definitely the better one to take. We spend the afternoon at the Cango Caves and visit an ostrich farm either the same afternoon or the next morning.
